1921 (RPPC) Tud Kent From West
1921 (RPPC) Tud Kent From West
Uncaptioned and undated Real Photo Postcard (RPPC) with view to west towards railroad tracks near Park Avenue and Main Streets of musher entering town from the west. Subject is readily identified as Tud Kent with his team of English Setters. Photo can be dated. By 1923, Kent was using a dark colored Belgian Police dog as lead so photo must be prior to 1923. It snowed at the 1922 Derby and there is no new snow in this photo. The Derby was cancelled in 1920. In all photos of Kent prior to 1920, Kent used a single tandem hitch (all dogs in a single line) as where, in this photo, Kent is using the double tandem hitch (dogs in pairs behind the lead dog). This RPPC is of Tud Kent entering town from the west in 1921 when he won the American Dog Derby before a crowd of 6,000.
